INEOS and Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox have come under mounting scrutiny following another disastrous start to the season at Old Trafford.

Wilcox joined United from Southampton in April 2024 before being promoted to director of football in June 2025, becoming a central figure in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s restructuring.

Chief executive Omar Berrada, who also arrived in 2024, has faced similar criticism over the club’s continued decline.

INEOS assumed control of United’s football operations in February 2024, promising to transform the club after years of disappointment under the Glazer family.

However, controversial redundancies, increased ticket prices, questionable recruitment and repeated managerial changes have undermined that ambition.

United spent heavily on midfielders Carlos Baleba, Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos during the summer but failed to strengthen at left-back, leaving the squad dangerously unbalanced.

Wilcox also endured a difficult relationship with former manager Ruben Amorim, with disagreements emerging over tactics and transfer strategy before the Portuguese coach’s dismissal in January.

Amorim publicly insisted he was United’s manager rather than merely a coach, challenging the responsibilities of the club’s recruitment department.

More recently, Lisandro Martinez publicly questioned Wilcox’s leadership following United’s Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid.

“I expect more from our technical director, I have to be honest,” the Argentine declared.

Michael Carrick’s position has since deteriorated further, with Saturday’s 2-0 defeat against Chelsea extending United’s winless run to nine matches.

Now, official government records have confirmed two director departures within INEOS’ wider business empire.

INEOS officially terminate two director appointments

According to Companies House filings, INEOS Solvents UK Limited terminated the director appointments of John Allan Nicolson and Andrew Brown on 28 October 2026.

Both departures were formally registered on the same date, alongside the appointments of two replacement directors.

Peter Karel Virginia Huyck and Frank Hirschmann were appointed to the company’s board, with all four changes appearing in its official filing history.

INEOS Solvents UK Limited, company number 09724714, operates within the chemicals industry and is registered in Lyndhurst, Hampshire.

The filings confirm the termination of the two appointments but do not establish whether the individuals were dismissed or resigned voluntarily.

Crucially, the changes concern an INEOS subsidiary rather than Manchester United, and neither Wilcox nor Berrada is identified in the filings.

Nevertheless, the development represents another confirmed leadership change within Ratcliffe’s extensive business operations.
