The injury expert has issued a worrying injury update on Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski

Injuries have taken their toll on Tottenham Hotspur this season, with much of their domestic shortcomings arriving as a result of that situation.

Ange Postecoglou must, of course, shoulder the rest of the blame for what has been a mediocre season, with Spurs out of both domestic cup competitions and reeling in the bottom half of the Premier League table. Europa League success remains a possibility and winning this competition would guarantee the club from North London a place in the Champions League next season.

After beating Southampton 3-1 in the Premier League on Sunday, Spurs face arguably their biggest game of the season thus far on Thursday against Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final tie. Ange Postecoglou has issued a fresh injury update of his squad ahead of the game, and one player who will not feature in midweek is Dejan Kulusevski.

Dejan Kulusevski has not featured for Ange’s side since the 1-0 defeat against Manchester City on February 26. The Swede has been nursing a foot problem, missing recent games as a result. The Tottenham boss has already ruled the 24-year-old out of the first-leg tie vs Frankfurt.

Now, Dr Rajpal Brar has dropped a fresh update on Kulusevski’s injury. If the player has sustained a bone bruise, the injury expert has stated two possibilities—one that would not keep him out for a long time. On the flip side, it could be something significant that could rule the creative midfielder out for another month.

“He is currently ruled out with an ankle injury,” Dr Rajpal Brar exclusively told Tottenham News while discussing Kulusevski’s state of play.

“Best-case scenario is that this is a bone bruise that won’t keep him out much longer, while the worst-case scenario is a more significant injury that continues to keep him out for an extended period of time.

“So, there is a possibility of him being ruled out for a month as well in that scenario.”

Big Ange remains hopeful of having Kulusevski back for the return leg against Frankfurt in Germany next week, so that would give the fans an idea of our star attacker’s progress from a foot injury. However, should the injury be a bit serious and rules him out for another month, the Sweden international would miss some important games for Tottenham.

In that scenario, Kulusevski would miss the return leg vs Dino Toppmoller’s Frankfurt, as well as Premier League games against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and West Ham United. The Stockholm-born talent has been Tottenham’s best player this season, thriving in a newfound central midfield role. So, him hypothetically missing these many games could have huge implications on Ange’s fate.

Hopefully, he heals fully from his foot injury and becomes available for the crucial second leg of the last-16 tie in Germany next week.
