Multiple outlets in Italy are reporting that Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to leave in order to join Saudi Pro League Al-Hilal.

Breaking: Inzaghi decides to leave Inter

Inzaghi, who was appointed Inter head coach exactly four years ago today, is expected to step away and join Al-Hilal, and is expected to lead the Saudi Pro League outfit into the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inzaghi will be in charge of Al-Hilal in time for their first FIFA Club World Cup match, which will be against Real Madrid on June 18.

The coach’s decision to leave comes just a few days after he and the Nerazzurri suffered the heaviest ever defeat in a Champions League or European Cup final, having lost 5-0 to Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday night.

Inter have reached two Champions League finals in three years under Inzaghi’s stewardship, but were beaten in both finals, first by Manchester City in 2023 and then by PSG in 2025.

Despite the fact that Inter were still on for a treble in April, the Nerazzurri finished the 2024-25 season without silverware.

Inzaghi leaves with one Serie A title (2023-24), two Coppa Italia titles (2021-22 and 2022-23) and three trophies from the Supercoppa Italiana (2021, 2022 and 2023).
