Inter Miami CF faces a problem after being crowned MLS Cup champion on Dec. 6, after defeating Vancouver Whitecaps FC 3-1.

One of the key players for the Herons to become champions was Tadeo Allende, who scored 20 goals and provided two assists in 37 MLS games in 2025.

Allende, 26, is under contract with LaLiga side Celta Vigo, valid until the summer of 2028. And according to AS, the Spanish club will not make the departure of its player easy.

Inter Miami intends to re-sign Allende to continue pairing him with Lionel Messi during the 2026 season, but they could face significant financial difficulty to achieve it.

"Celta (Vigo) does not plan to make things easy and will do everything possible to ensure the return of the 'prodigal son.' Regarding the price that the David Beckham-owned team is testing, the Celestes dismiss it as insufficient," explains the cited outlet.

"They will not sell the player for an amount less than 6 million. Allende is valued at around 10 million euros (around $12 million)," claimed El Desmarque after statements by Marco Garces, sporting director of the Spanish club.

Inter Miami and Lionel Messi Will Continue Seeking to Make History After Winning MLS Cup

Vancouver closed the gap in the 60th minute with a goal by Ali Ahmed, assisted by Brian White. Ahmed used the side of his foot and shot to the near post, where Miami goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo got his hands on it but could not make the save.

Miami reacted quickly, and in the 71st minute, De Paul put the home side ahead again, assisted by Messi, who reached his 406th assist with this pass. The Barcelona legend played a through ball, and Inter Miami’s number seven finished perfectly.
