Inter Miami Star Missing From Training After LAFC Loss

Inter Miami suffered a 3-0 loss in Los Angeles to LAFC in their first 2026 MLS game of the season over the weekend. Inter Miami will focus on its next MLS match, which will be played this weekend.

Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano played a strong lineup against LAFC over the weekend, including Lionel Messi and other players like new signing German Berterame.

The Herons will be playing against Independiente del Valle in a friendly match in Puerto Rico this Thursday before their match against Orlando City on Sunday.

Ahead of the friendly match in Puerto Rico, Inter Miami trained in the club facilities, and a key player who missed the training session today was Mateo Silvetti.

Other key players like Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul were part of the training session, but Silvetti was out.

Is Mateo Silvetti Injured?

Mateo Silvetti did not play the full match against LAFC over the weekend as he was taken off in the 81st minute of the match and was replaced by Luis Suarez.

It is unclear whether the Argentine attacker is injured, but he is likely to miss the friendly match against Independiente del Valle in Puerto Rico, as today was the last training session before they travel.

Other key players like Messi, De Paul, and others are expected to make the trip to Puerto Rico for the last friendly match of their pre-season tour. This friendly match against Independiente del Valle was rescheduled as it was planned to be played two weeks ago.
