Federico Dimarco was on the scoresheet as Inter Milan saw Sassuolo off in last night’s Serie A showdown at San Siro.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 27-year-old could’ve gone from ‘hero to zero.’

Indeed, Federico Dimarco broke the deadlock in the 14th minute to put the Nerazzurri 1-0 up.

In doing so, he scored his first Serie A goal of the season.

However, he picked up a dubious yellow card on the stroke of the hour mark.

Federico Dimarco Narrowly Escapes Red Card in Inter Milan 2-1 Sassuolo Win

Referee Livio Marinelli booked the Italian wingback over a reckless tackle on Domenico Berardi in the 58th minute.

Yet, it’s debatable whether Dimarco deserved the yellow card.

However, it did put him in an awkward position for the rest of the game.

Nonetheless, Cristian Chivu refused to withdraw his goalscorer, replacing Denzel Dumfries instead.

Fortunately, Dimarco showed calmness and composure, holding up his end of the bargain while avoiding a second booking.
