Inter Milan wing back Federico Dimarco got on the scoresheet tonight in his side’s 2-1 win against Sassuolo at San Siro.

A delightful team play resulted in the Italian slotting the ball past Sassuolo goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

Speaking to DAZN after the game, with quotes via FCInterNews, Dimarco said it was “important to win, coming off the back of 2 defeats in the league.”

“We needed to take home the three points,” he continued, “and we did it, so we are happy.”

The win is only Inter’s second in Serie A this season, bringing them up to six points from their opening four matches.

Inter Milan Goalscorer Dimarco On ‘Long Season’ After Win Vs Sassuolo

Dimarco confessed the Nerazzurri had a rocky start to the season and was asked how important it was to hear the fans chanting Chivu’s name.

“As I said before, we’ve had two losses but the season is long.”

“We need to think about things game by game,” he continued.

“We must listen to the coach’s instructions and continue to work as we have been doing.”

Cristian Chivu would have been hoping for a brighter start to the season.

Although, his Inter side were unlucky in their 4-3 Derby d’Italia defeat to Juventus last weekend.

The 2-1 loss to Udinese at San Siro before the international break was concerning.

However, Chivu’s side have now bounced back with consecutive wins against Ajax and Sassuolo.

Finally, Dimarco was asked how the free kick games are going with Kolarov and Chivu in training.

The Italian laughed and said “Let’s ask another question!”
