Inter Milan are close to selling the fringe players they need to to beat Liverpool to the signing of Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are aiming to sign Giovanni Leoni from Parma this summer. However, it won’t be a cheap deal, as the Gialloblu reportedly want €40 million for Leoni.
The fact that Liverpool are keen on signing the 19-year-old virtually ensures that the price tag will remain sky high.
Therefore, Inter need to stump up the cash to try and finance a deal.
However, Tuttosport note that Inter have already set about their strategy to raise the money to sign Leoni by selling players not in their first team plans,
The Nerazzurri have already sold Tajon Buchanan and Aleksandar Stankovic.
Furthermore, Inter are also hoping to sell Kristjan Asllani.
However, even without a deal in place to sell Asllani, Inter could get the money they need. They are close to selling Sebastiano Esposito to Parma, for one thing.
And then, Tuttosport report, Premier League new boys Leeds United look to be closing in on a deal to sign striker Mehdi Taremi from Inter.
