Inter Milan and Atalanta have reportedly opened up negotiations over wingback Nicola Zalewski.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the talks are unrelated to those for Ademola Lookman.
Wingback Nicola Zalewski joined Inter Milan in January of this year. He made the switch on an initial loan deal from Roma.
Zalewski featured at left-wingback, right-wingback, and even in attacking midfield over the second half of last season under departed Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
Then, in the summer, the Nerazzurri signed Zalewski on a permanent basis. They reportedly exercised a purchase option to buy the 23-year-old outright for a fee of around €6.5 million.
In the meantime, though, Atalanta are trying to sign a left-wingback.
La Dea have already made an attempt to bring Robin Gosens back to the club. However, Fiorentina rejected their advances for the German.
Meanwhile, Atalanta have also lined up Zalewski as a potential target.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter are open to negotiations to sell the Polish international. Even in spite of the fact that they only just signed him permanently.
The broadcaster also anticipate that these negotiations would not have anything to do with Inter’s stalling pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
For the Nigerian, Atalanta’s high valuation remains a big impediment to Inter completing a deal.
