Inter Milan Vice President Javier Zanetti spoke in an interview with ESPN and one of the topics that he touched on was the Serie A club’s interest in Mastantuono. He noted his admiration for the player, but he doesn’t see the Italian club buying the young Argentine.
“He’s a player any team would want to have, and I think he’d perform well in any environment,” Zanetti said (h/t Sky Sport Italy). “Is he expensive for Inter? Yes, he is—especially for his age. But I believe River are doing a great job, even if I’m not sure how much longer they’ll be able to enjoy him.”
Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race for Franco Mastantuono, joining Real Madrid, Manchester United, and several other top European clubs, according to Diario Olé.
The report also notes that six Premier League teams are showing interest, including newly crowned champions Liverpool, as well as Arsenal and Chelsea. Mastantuono is under contract with River Plate through December 2027 and has a €45 million release clause. He reportedly hasn’t made up his mind about his next move.
Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Manchester City are currently leading the chase for the 16-year-old, though PSG are still seen as strong contenders.
