Simone Inzaghi and the Inter Milan directors will hold a crucial meeting as far as the summer transfer strategy very soon.

This according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

There are just two matches to go in the current season for Inter.

And the Nerazzurri already have one eye towards the upcoming season.

In truth, the planning for the club’s transfers this summer already started long ago. Behind the scenes, there is little rest for Inter’s directors.

Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio have already pulled off two major signings for this summer.

Several months ago, the Inter executives negotiated deals to sign the likes of Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi from Napoli and Porto respectively. The duo will join on free transfers.

But naturally, that is not the only business that Inter will do this summer.

Simone Inzaghi & Inter Directors To Hold Key Transfer Summit Soon

The expected major loan from PIMCO to Inter owners Suning will be an important precursor to the club formulating their transfer strategy.

That loan will keep the current owners at the helm.

Therefore, there is more certainty, and with it firm ground to stand on as far as deciding on what the strategy will be in the transfer market.

As the Gazzetta note, the €430 million loan that Suning will take on does contain €50 million more than the €380 million that will be necessary to pay back their debt to Oaktree Capital.

However, that does not mean that Suning will put that cash into the transfer budget this summer.

Rather, it will be another summer in which Inter have to “sell to buy.”

Therefore, the club directors will get clear instructions from President Steven Zhang on what the budget will be.

Then, there will be a meeting between the directors and coach Inzaghi.

This will be a crucial juncture in which Inter will outline their strategy for the summer.

Having already signed Zielinski and Taremi, there could be a few other priorities.

One is to sign a goalkeeper. Inter want to sign € from Athletico Paranaense in this area of the pitch.

Then, the Nerazzurri also want to sign another striker, even after sealing a deal for Taremi.

Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee would be a dream target. But much more attainable would be Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson – particularly if the Grifone accept a bid for a loan with a purchase option.

And then there is the question of right-wingback. In that respect, everything will hinge on whether Denzel Dumfries extends his contract.

Should Dumfries extend, then there will be no new signing for the right flank.

But if there is no new deal for the Dutchman, then the Nerazzurri’s plan is to sell and replace him.
