Inter Milan defender Carlos Augusto has simply put it that Saturday’s 4-3 defeat to Juventus came because his side “conceded too many goals.”
A simple assessment yet an accurate one from the wing-back to Sport Mediaset after the game, with quotes via FcInterNews.
Augusto was one of the Nerazzurri’s better players on the pitch in last night’s derby loss.
The Brazilian was a surprise inclusion in the starting XI.
The 26-year-old was given the nod over Federico Dimarco by head coach Cristian Chivu.
Speaking in the aftermath of the derby, Augusto said:
“We conceded too many goals, which we don’t want to happen… but it did.”
The Brazilian added, “We need to work hard and focus on our performance to do well in our next matches,
“And make as few mistakes as possible.”
Inter’s next match sees them travel to Amsterdam during the week to take on Ajax in their Champions League opener.
The Nerazzurri will be hoping to put a disappointing start to the season behind them and kick off their continental campaign with a bang.
