Inter Milan begin their Serie A title defence after a summer of significant squad changes, having completed a league and Italian Cup double in May.
Cristian Chivu is entering his second season in charge and has reshaped the squad he inherited from Simone Inzaghi. The champions have focused on refreshing an ageing side during the transfer window while retaining a group capable of competing on multiple fronts.
Goalkeeper Josep Martinez is expected to take over following Yann Sommer’s departure as part of a refreshed defence. Veterans Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian and Stefan de Vrij have also moved on.
John Stones and Djed Spence have arrived as part of the defensive rebuild, while Manuel Akanji has completed a permanent move after joining Inter on loan last season. Denzel Dumfries has left for Real Madrid.
Inter are also pursuing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones as they seek to maintain depth across the squad.
Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram are set to continue leading the attack, with Pio Esposito and Ange-Yoan Bonny also among the forward options. Inter are targeting a third league title in four seasons after their domestic double.
The club will also be looking to improve on a European campaign that ended in the knockout play-off round against Bodo/Glimt.
AC Milan have turned to Ruben Amorim after finishing fifth last season and have signed Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain. Napoli finished second last season and are beginning the campaign under new management following Antonio Conte’s exit.
Juventus are also aiming to improve after finishing sixth, while Roma and Como are looking to build on last season’s momentum.
