Inter Milan fizzled out after a quarter of an hour against Udinese, as worrying limitations to their play became apparent.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan did not get off to a bad start in yesterday’s Serie A match against Udinese.

The Nerazzurri played at a high tempo from the first whistle. And they looked to be the team in the ascendancy, creating several chances.

It didn’t take too long for Inter to get their reward, in the form of an opening goal from Denzel Dumfries.

However, after that, things quickly went off the rails for Inter.

The Dutchman’s goal seemed to wake Udinese up. The Friulani reacted by ratcheting up the pressure to try and unsettle Inter and win the ball in midfield.

And Inter, by contrast, seemed to become totally complacent after Dumfries’s opener. Therefore, they had little answer to Udinese.

Inter Fizzle Out Vs Udinese – Worrying Signs Become Apparent

The Gazzetta dello Sport argue that yesterday’s loss did not just look like a one-off occurrence from Inter.

The Nerazzurri appeared unable to really come to grips with the match that was developing in front of them.

Key Inter players like Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez were among the worst offenders.

The Gazzetta furthermore note how both Nerazzurri players protested virtually every decision that went against them. Inter captain Martinez even talked himself into the book.

However, the reality was that Inter were simply getting overrun and failing to get up to the pace of the match.
