Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni is reportedly at risk of missing Saturday’s must-win Serie A showdown against Atalanta.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old will undergo decisive medical checks later today to determine his availability for the match.
Bastoni’s potential absence would come as a major blow for the Nerazzurri ahead of Atalanta’s visit to San Siro.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu is already deprived of the services of Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez.
Therefore, the 45-year-old manager is desperate to avoid further injury concerns as Inter aim to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat in the Milan derby.
Alessandro Bastoni suffered a knock in the match against AC Milan.
Indeed, he made a tactical foul on Adrien Rabiot. However, he injured himself in the process, forcing Chivu to take him off immediately.
Furthermore, Bastoni’s nasty collision with the French midfielder could prove more costly than initially expected.
The former Atalanta man is now facing a race against time to put himself at Chivu’s disposal for Saturday’s fixture at San Siro.
Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto, who took Bastoni’s place against Milan, is likely to fill the void if the Italian star fails to recover in time.
