Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has confirmed that he will miss the rest of the Club World Cup due to injury.

The 25-year-old updated on his condition on his Instagram story, via FCInterNews. He confirmed that he will be travelling back to Italy for medical tests.

Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has not featured for Inter Milan at the Club World Cup.

The Italian international travelled with the Nerazzurri squad for the tournament. However, he has not been able to play against any of Monterrey, Urawa Red Diamonds, or River Plate in the group stage.

This has been due to a lingering injury problems.

There had been report that Frattesi was close to being able to return. Possibly even as soon as tomorrow’s round of sixteen clash with Fluminense.

However, as it turns out, Frattesi is still not ready. Moreover, the decision has been made that the former Sassuolo midfielder will not be risked even if Inter make it further at the tournament.

And Davide Frattesi has updated on his condition on his Instagram story.

“Hello everyone!” he wrote. “In agreement with the club and the coaching staff, I’ll be returning to Italy to carry out more in-depth injury tests.”

He elaborated that this is “due to a problem I’ve been dealing with since the Barcelona match!”

“See you soon, and Forza Inter Sempre,” Frattesi concluded. “Best of luck to my teammates.”
