European clubs are beginning to finalise contract decisions as several experienced players reach the end of their current deals, with a number of familiar names set to move on this summer.

In Italy, squad reshaping is already underway, with senior figures departing after contributing heavily across domestic and European competitions in recent seasons.

These exits include players with Champions League experience, as well as others who have been key parts of trophy-winning squads in Serie A.

Official confirmations have now started to arrive, with clubs publicly thanking long-serving players for their contributions.

“Thank you for everything” was the message shared as part of the latest round of farewell announcements by Inter Milan.

Among those included in the departures is a defender who previously spent several years in the Premier League with Manchester United before rebuilding his career in Italy.

Matteo Darmian officially leaves Inter Milan

Matteo Darmian has now officially left Inter Milan following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to a successful six-year spell at San Siro, as the club announced on their website.

The Italian full-back became a trusted and versatile option during his time at the club, going on to make 218 appearances in all competitions, including 150 in Serie A.

His time at Inter brought significant success, with three league titles, three domestic cups and three Super Cups added to his honours list, along with two runs to the Champions League final.

Before becoming a mainstay in Milan, Matteo Darmian first arrived in English football when he joined Manchester United from Torino in July 2015.

He made 92 appearances for United across four seasons, winning the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League during his spell at Old Trafford.

After leaving in September 2019 for Parma, he later returned to Inter on loan in October 2020, with the move made permanent in July 2021.

Inter have now confirmed his departure alongside Yann Sommer and Francesco Acerbi as their contracts officially expired.
