Inter Milan shot-stopper Yann Sommer is in no rush to decide what comes after football.

Speaking to Panorama, via FCInterNews, the Inter goalkeeper admitted he has not mapped out his post-career plans and is keeping his mind open.

“Who can say if I will still be in football? It’s too early to know,” he said.

“I don’t really see myself as a coach, but in life there are so many things to do.”

The Swiss international also reflected on how the role of the goalkeeper has changed in the modern game, identifying Pep Guardiola’s influence as a turning point.

Sommer explained that today’s keepers must be far more than shot-stoppers.

“Almost every coach now asks to build from the back, so we can’t just think about saving shots,” he noted.

“I often play in small-sided games with my teammates in midfield, so I get used to situations that can reoccur in matches.”

Inter Milan Goalkeeper Sommer Uses Yoga To Stay Focused

Sommer added that maintaining clarity and focus is essential, especially for a team that demands proactive football from the last line.

To stay sharp, he turns to yoga, which he says helps him prepare mentally. “It’s important to keep concentration at the highest level, and yoga helps me do that,” he said.

“On the pitch I talk a lot with my teammates. I don’t get angry, but I communicate a lot during the match.”

The 35-year-old’s experience, composure and leadership have played an important role in Inter’s strong start, and while his long-term future can wait, his focus remains fully on the present.
