Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito says that he is “proud” of what his brother Francesco Pio has done at the Club World Cup.

Speaking to reporters while at the tournament, via FCInterNews, the 22-year-old also stressed that he feels his younger brother must keep on the path that he’s on now.

Inter Milan brought both Sebastiano Esposito and Francesco Pio Esposito to the United States for the Club World Cup.

The two brothers both came through Inter’s youth academy.

Sebastiano has gone out on a number of loans over the past few years. He spent last season with Empoli.

Meanwhile, Francesco Pio spent the last two seasons at Spezia. And last campaign, he really broke out, scoring nineteen goals for the Ligurian club.

At the Club World Cup, Francesco Pio Esposito has made good on his form from Serie B last season. He scored Inter’s opening goal in their group stage win over River Plate, capping off a star turn.

Reportedly, Inter Milan are ready to make Francesco Pio Esposito a part of their first team plans next season.

Meanwhile, Sebastiano is likely set to leave the Nerazzurri once and for all this summer. Reportedly, Fiorentina are keen to sign the 22-year-old striker.

Sebastiano Esposito commented that it’s been “great” to see the growth of his younger brother.

“Pio is doing very well,” continued the young striker. “I’m very proud of him.”

“He knows that he has to keep going on this path,” Sebastiano Esposito went on. “Because in football, it’s very easy to have ups and downs very quickly.”

“What you did yesterday is easily forgotten. He has to continue, because the next step is for him to keep doing well.”
