According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, that futile quest was the only blemish on an otherwise decent transfer window.

It was a transitional summer for the Nerazzurri.

Indeed, Simone Inzaghi left the club after four years, with Cristian Chivu appointed as his replacement.

Furthermore, Beppe Marotta worked tirelessly to strengthen Chivu’s squad.
