After weeks of protest, the Curva Nord finally ended their silence in Rome, breaking the self-imposed halt on chants, flags and vocal support that has marked Inter Milan’s season so far.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the travelling Nerazzurri sector (roughly 5,000 fans at the Olimpico) exploded at the teams’ entrance.
Chants, banners, flags and applause welcomed the Inter team.
This therefore ended the silent stance that began after restrictions and fallout linked to the “Doppia Curva” investigation.
The gesture was deliberate: a message of solidarity to the squad and to Chivu on a key night in the title race.
Until now, the Nord had remained in protest over the new limitations imposed on fan groups.
Therefore, they were refusing to sing both home and away.
The report adds that a full return is now scheduled for San Siro, when Inter host Fiorentina on October 29.
The agreement with police and the club stipulates that the Curva will be unified under a single banner.
For Inter, the return of an organised, vocal Nord could not come at a better moment.
A critical stretch of matches is approaching, and the team once again has its soundtrack.
