Inter are still hopeful of landing a deal with Atalanta for the reigning African Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman, despite reports on Monday claiming that they are prepared to walk away.

Inter will not give up on Lookman, Frendrup unlikely

Inter have been pushing to strike a deal with Atalanta for Lookman, who has not considered any other offers so far in this transfer window.

Despite Monday’s reports, Inter have not thrown in the towel in the race to sign Lookman this summer. They have not issued any ultimatums, despite having originally hoped to have wrapped up a deal by the end of July.

Instead, the Nerazzurri have had to wait. A wait that can not go on for ever, but for now, Lookman is the only attacker that Inter are focusing on.

Also, despite reports on Monday claiming that Morten Frendrup from Genoa could be an option for Inter, there is little to suggest that Inter are in a position to strike a deal.

While Genoa could be tempted into selling with an appropriate offer, Inter already have Petar Sucic and Nicolo Barella on their books, two players with similar profiles.

Inter have not made any solid moves for the Dane, and instead remain focused on the Lookman saga.
