Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter have resumed interest in Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup for the January transfer window, but Roma have already made a request for the 24-year-old.
Serie A giants Inter and Roma have set their sights on Genoa midfielder Frendrup, according to Gazzetta.
The Denmark international was already linked with a move to San Siro over the summer, but the Nerazzurri eventually picked Andy Diouf.
The latter, however, has only played 26 minutes under Cristian Chivu this term, and Inter are considering loaning him out in January to add a faster and more efficient central midfielder.
According to the report, Inter will necessarily need to part ways with a midfielder in January if they are to welcome Frendrup.
Piotr Zielinski and Davide Frattesi are two other possible candidates to leave the Meazza to make room for a new acquisition.
According to Gazzetta, Roma have also shown interest in Frendrup by asking for the midfielder’s price tag.
The Giallorossi are expected to sell one or two top players by the end of the season for financial reasons, but Frendrup is reportedly open to moving to either Rome or Milan.
