Inter are looking to Angelo Stiller of VfB Stuttgart as a replacement for want-away Hakan Calhanoglu, with Aleksandar Stankovic potentially in a swap deal.

The aftermath of the FIFA Club World Cup exit to Fluminense was dominated by discussion over Calhanoglu, as captain Lautaro Martinez and President Beppe Marotta told the midfielder he should leave if he is not enthusiastic about staying.

With Galatasaray waiting, now Inter must find a suitable replacement, and Sportitalia transfer expert Gianluigi Longari is pointing towards Stiller.

The 24-year-old has four senior caps for Germany, having been a regular at Under-21 level.

Stiller targeted by Inter for younger midfield

A product of the Bayern Munich youth academy, he joined Hoffenheim as a free agent, then was sold to VfB Stuttgart in 2023 for €5.5m.

The Nerazzurri might have an extra reason to push for Stiller, because the same report states that Stuttgart are interested in Aleksandar Stankovic.

The son of former midfielder Dejan Stankovic is in the Inter youth team and turns 20 next month.

A swap deal could therefore allow Inter to keep the costs contained, although Club Brugge are also said to be looking at Stankovic this summer.
