Saudi Arabia pulled off the first major upset of the 2022 World Cup by knocking off Argentina, 2-1, on Tuesday.
Aside from being an unexpected result, it was also a wild game as Argentina had a 70-30 possession advantage and had three potential goals wiped out by offsides in the first 35 minutes of the match.
It could have easily been a very, very different result. But in the end, it was Saudi Arabia getting the result. It gave Saudi Arabia only its fourth World Cup win over, and also snapped what was a 36-match win streak for Argentina entering the tournament.
And the Internet had some reactions to all of that.
What a victory for Saudi Arabia and what a goal by Salem Al-Dawsari!!!
