Lautaro Martinez is targeting a return to full fitness for Inter Milan in matches against the likes of Como and PSG.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi won’t take any risks with Martinez’s fitness.

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is currently recovering from a muscle problem.

The Argentine suffered an elongation in his left thigh flexor muscles during the first leg of Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.

Martinez did rush back to fitness for the second leg. He was always going to do absolutely everything to play in a season-defining match such as that.

And Martinez did certainly did have an impact. The Nerazzurri captain scored his team’s first goal, and then won the penalty for their second.

However, Martinez eventually had to come off as a substitute during the second half.

Lautaro Martinez Targeting Full Fitness For Inter Vs Como & PSG

The Corriere report that Martinez will not be able to play against Lazio this weekend.

The 27-year-old had already missed last Sunday’s match against Torino. And similarly, he will be out this Sunday as well.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is hardly keen to rush Martinez back to the pitch.

The aim for the Nerazzurri coach will be to have his captain at his best for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the month.

However, the Corriere report, Martinez is definitely aiming to be back against Como.

Inter will want to end their Serie A season in the best way – and potentially win the title if Napoli slip up. Therefore, Lautaro Martinez is targeting that tricky final match of the league campaign.
