AC Milan have an opportunity to top the Serie A table if they defeat Fiorentina today. Milan has turned things around after losing their first match of the season against Cremonese.
Milan won five league games in a row, and one of the games included a 2-1 win over the reigning Serie A champions Napoli. Milan has scored nine goals after six matches played in the Serie A.
Out of the nine goals scored, Christian Pulisic scored four goals. The American forward was in top form heading into the international break with the USMNT, but he was unable to score against Juventus, which finished in a 0-0 draw.
Pulisic had some injury concerns during the international break, and in a friendly match against Australia, Pulisic needed to be subbed off early due to a hamstring injury.
Pulisic reportedly traveled to Italy right after the USMNT friendly against Australia last Tuesday, and AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri gave an update on the American forward.
Ahead of the Fiorentina match, AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri spoke about the match, and he was asked about an update on Christian Pulisic.
Allegri not only confirmed that Pulisic will not play against Fiorentina but that the American forward will be out for weeks due to his hamstring injury. The Italian manager confirmed that Pulisic, along with Adrien Rabiot, will be sidelined for weeks.
Allegri said, "Rabiot and Pulisic won’t return before the next international break."
Allegri was asked for his opinion about the international breaks which led to injuries of key players like Christian Pulisic. Allegri said, "International breaks? Maybe the issue has been solved for next year. Sometimes they’re useful, other times players come back injured, it happens. This is the most dangerous period; usually injuries occur between November and March. In any case, progress has been made by merging the two breaks."
