Real Madrid will be playing away from home in the Copa Del Rey today. Real Madrid faces Albacete at the Estadio Carlos Belmonte just a few days after playing in the Spanish Super Cup Final in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Real Madrid started the match against FC Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup Final without their top goalscorer this season so far, Kylian Mbappe.
The French star was injured and missed two consecutive games. Mbappe missed the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Atletico Madrid and played under 20 minutes against Barcelona over the weekend.
Mbappe came on in the 76th minute of the match and did not start to avoid any risks since he was not 100% match fit.
The Real Madrid team has already trained under new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, but the reports state that Kylian Mbappe was absent from team training.
Mbappe could still be fully recovering from his injury, which is a knee strain.
Mbappe will miss the match completely as the club and Arbeloa do not want to risk the player ahead of a busy schedule for Real Madrid in the next few weeks, which includes the return of the Champions League next week.
Mbappe was not included in the squad list for the match against Albacete in the Copa del Rey today.
