We are just 12 hrs away from the highly anticipated clash between Inter Miami and the New England Revolution. The two MLS sides are on the polar ends of the standings, with Inter Miami firmly positioned to make it into the playoffs while New England looks to keep their hopes alive.

With a match of this magnitude, both teams will be eager to end on the positive side of the final whistle. Fans in attendance at the Gilette Stadium would also be eager to see Lionel Messi in action. However, if rumors are correct, many of them could walk out disappointed.

According to reports, Lionel Messi could be rested with the team eying a string of important fixtures in the coming days. While this could be a surprising move considering Messi has played a central role in the team's attack, the Argentine has earned some well-deserved rest ahead of the team's return to their home venue.

Messi alongside Luiz Suarez continue to be a major threat to defenses around the league, with the pair constantly wreaking havoc against opponents.
