The drama between Rodrygo Silva de Goes and Real Madrid seems to have hit an all-time high in recent weeks. Following the arrival of Xabi Alonso as the head coach, the Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order at the club, with the manager more open to trying other names on the right wing.

Rodrygo suffered another snub from Xabi Alonso ahead of the team's last club friendly before their league campaign with the player being left out of the starting eleven yet again. While Alonso's distrust in the Brazilian has been well known, his decision to field Brahim Diaz in an unfamiliar position raises serious questions over his relationship with Rodrygo.

Rodrygo's souring relationship with Madrid to benefit Man City

According to reports, Rodrygo has voiced his frustrations with the manager's decision over his future and informed of the club about his desire to leave if the situation doesn't improve. Losing the likes of Rodrygo could be a rough blow to the team, despite the club bringing in some solid reinforcements this summer.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City have been keen admirers of the Brazilian and have lodged their interest in securing the player's services. The Cityzens had a lackluster season last year and are eager to turn things around this season. With the team losing the heart of their midfield in Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva is expected to slot into the central midfield position this summer, which could open up the place for Rodrygo to slot in the wing.

While Real Madrid are open to letting the Brazilian leave, the club have slapped a $120 million price tag for the player and are adamant on not selling the player for a penny less. With just weeks left in the summer transfer window, it will be interesting to see if Manchester City table an official bid for the player and manager to secure his services from a stingy Real Madrid.
