Davide Frattesi is unlikely to leave Inter Milan at the end of the summer transfer window, but Piotr Zielinski could depart.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Frattesi would only leave if Newcastle United make a big offer.
Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing midfielder Andy Diouf from Lens.
That means that the Nerazzurri are currently well-stocked in midfield . Diouf will join Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Davide Frattesi, Petar Sucic, and Piotr Zielinski.
Therefore, even with Kristjan Asllani departing for Torino, there is a feeling that Inter have more than enough options centrally. Maybe even too many.
Therefore, the Gazzetta report, it’s not impossible that one midfielder could still leave.
As the Gazzetta report, however, the player to depart is unlikely to be Davide Frattesi.
The 25-year-old has been the subject to persistent transfer rumours. His exit looked almost inevitable at the end of the season, as he had completely fallen out with coach Simone Inzaghi.
However, Inzaghi’s departure and the arrrival of Cristian Chivu as coach has changed Frattesi’s fortunes at Inter.
Therefore, reports the Gazzetta, there is little chance of Inter offloading Frattesi before the transfer window closes.
The one thing that could suddenly change things would be if Newcastle United launched a big money bid. The Gazzetta anticipate that an offer of €40 million from the Magpies could be enough.
On the other hand, the Gazzetta note, Piotr Zielinski is a player Inter wouldn’t mind parting ways with.
The Polish international had a disappointing first season at Inter. And there is a feeling that he doesn’t quite fit into Chivu’s plans,.
