Francesco Pio Esposito didn’t get on the scoresheet at the Stadio Olimpico, but his contribution in Inter Milan’s 1–0 win over Roma still earned positive reviews from the Italian press.

Coming on in the second half to support Ange-Yoan Bonny, the 19-year-old showed personality, presence, and maturity in a tight match decided by fine margins.

“He formed, for as long as it lasted, the youngest attacking pair possible with Bonny.

“When left alone, he held up several balls and won fouls.

“A very good half-hour from him,” wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport. Highlighting his ability to help Inter breathe in the most delicate phase of the match.

TMW also underlined his impact, noting that “he didn’t leave a mark, but his presence still created apprehension for the Roma defenders.”

Even without a decisive play, Esposito’s movement and willingness to battle ensured Inter kept field position and prevented Roma from building cleanly out from the back.

It was the kind of appearance that coaches value: dirty work, personality, and sacrifice in a hostile away stadium.

For a teenager, it was another reassuring step forward.
