The new season is approaching with players such as Max Waters getting the chance to prove themselves for Manchester United.
The men’s first-team kick-off their pre-season fixtures today, playing Wrexham in Helsinki.
Andrey Santos will make his debut for the club with him named in the starting eleven for his first game since joining United from Chelsea.
New signings Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow may also get game-time during the club’s pre-season campaign, with matches against Atletico Madrid and Leeds United still to come as a part of preparing for next season.
Away from the men’s first-team, other sides in the club are preparing too. Manchester United Women, led by Marc Skinner, will travel to Spain for their pre-season operations with a behind-closed-doors fixture against Newcastle United Women to come whilst on the camp.
Manchester United’s Under-18s are also preparing for the upcoming campaign with the side starting their series of pre-season fixtures yesterday against TSV 1860 München.
United picked up a 2-0 win against the side with Under-16s defender Jack Waters playing for 40 minutes in the game whilst Under-15s player Jacie Gore also played for 25 minutes.
In the Under-21s game, however, the game had to be abandoned due to adverse weather conditions which began after the game started.
Waters was called up to an England Under-15s camp eight months ago and is seen as a big talent inside Manchester United ranks currently.
His debut for the Under-18s reinforces this message further and gave him an opportunity to prove himself to coaches at a higher level.
It remains to be seen what United’s plans for Jack Waters are for the upcoming campaign although he may aim to follow in the footsteps of those who came before him in the academy such as JJ Gabriel and Jack Fletcher who are both excelling currently.
