Borussia Dortmund are considering a move to bring Jadon Sancho back to the club ahead of the summer window.

Discussions are already taking place behind the scenes.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, Sancho has given his approval in principle to rejoin Dortmund.

Talks have already been held.

The Bundesliga side are fully informed on the financial details required to complete a deal.

Jadon Sancho is said to be open to the move, although he is also attracting interest from multiple clubs ahead of the summer window.

The final decision now rests with Dortmund.

The German side must decide whether to advance negotiations.

Manager Niko Kovac has reportedly already approved the move internally.

Earlier this month, Dortmund’s managing director for sport Lars Ricken confirmed that the club are exploring attacking options, with Sancho among the names under consideration.

It follows reports last month suggesting the winger would be willing to reduce his wages to facilitate a return to the Signal Iduna Park.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have already made their stance clear.

The club are prepared to part ways with Jadon Sancho permanently this summer and are not planning to extend or trigger further clauses in his current deal.

The 26-year-old joined Aston Villa on a loan deal last summer and has 20 times in the Premier League this season, contributing just two assists and is yet to score a goal.

Sancho initially joined the Red Devils from Dortmund in 2021.

The transfer followed during a period where he established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.

However, his time in England has been inconsistent.

After a public falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag, he returned to Dortmund on loan in 2024.

A permanent reunion now appears increasingly possible.
