Saudi giants consider Jadon Sancho

According to Sam C Reports on X, Al-Ittihad are considering Jadon Sancho as one of their options amid complications in their pursuit of Ritsu Doan.

Doan had reportedly been open to joining the Saudi club.

However, negotiations have failed to progress as initially expected.

That has led Al-Ittihad to look at alternative options, with Sancho now emerging as a name under consideration.

The potential move comes after a difficult few years for the Englishman.

Sancho joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a fee of around £73 million after establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers.

However, he struggled to consistently reproduce his Dortmund form at Old Trafford and eventually fell out with Erik ten Hag.

The situation resulted in Sancho being removed from the first-team picture before he returned to Dortmund on loan in January 2024.

That was followed by further loan spells at Chelsea and Aston Villa, meaning Sancho spent much of his United career away from the club.

He made 83 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists.

Despite flashes of the ability that made him such a highly-rated prospect in Germany, he ultimately failed to live up to the expectations that accompanied his arrival at Old Trafford.

United released Sancho this summer, leaving the 26-year-old without a club and searching for his next destination.

A move to Al-Ittihad would give Sancho the chance to start again in a league that has continued to attract major names, while the Saudi giants could see his experience and attacking ability as a solution to their current transfer situation.
