Jesse Lingard in talks with former club

Jesse Lingard made a total of 232 appearances for Manchester United across 11 seasons.

During his time with his boyhood club, Lingard helped guide the club to a UEFA Europa League,  FA Cup and League Cup within a two season period.

He also did something a lot of Man United fans dream of as children, to score the winning goal in a cup final.

His goal in extra-time secured a 2-1 win for United over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium, after the team were initially 1-0 down in the opening 90 minutes.

Lingard also scored in the subsequent Community Shield as they beat surprise Premier League champions Leicester City.

His time at the club would also see him leave for West Ham United on loan in 2021, where he excelled with nine goals in 16 Premier League appearances.

He returned to United but failed to get a say in first team selection and left for Nottingham Forest the following summer.

A disappointing season at the City Ground saw Lingard leave after just one year.

After several months without a team, Lingard joined FC Seoul in February 2024.

With 19 goals in 67 appearances in South Korea, Lingard’s time in South Korea came to an end earlier this month.

This led to many wondering what the future will hold for Lingard.

Lingard looks set for a new venture, and this could be a return to a former club.

Claret & Hugh have reported that Lingard could be set for a return to West Ham.

Lingard is said to be keen on a reunion with his former side, where he excelled back in 2021.

“Lingard has held talks with West Ham”, said a source close to the club.

West Ham are the favourites for his signature and a loan deal is being touted initially.

This would be a happy return at a club where Lingard become a cult hero.
