Milan have confirmed Alejandro Jiménez’s move to Bournemouth on loan with an obligation to buy.

Spanish full-back Jimenez has joined Bournemouth on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy from Milan, the Rossoneri confirmed in an official statement on Monday.

Jimenez joins Bournemouth: official Milan statement

“AC Milan can confirm that Alejandro Jiménez Sánchez has joined AFC Bournemouth on loan, with an obligation to make the deal permanent upon the completion of certain conditions,” Milan said.

“The Club would like to wish Alejandro all the best for the coming season.”

Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Sunday that Milan would get circa €2m for the Spaniard’s season-long loan but the full transfer fee for the Rossoneri would be around €20m.

Jimenez, 20, is a product of the Real Madrid academy who joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2022.

He initially played with Milan’s Primavera team but made his senior debut at the start of 2024, first in a Coppa Italia game against Cagliari and then in Serie A against Empoli.

Jimenez made 34 senior appearances with Milan, providing two assists.

The Supercoppa Italiana Milan won in 2024-25 was the first and only piece of silverware he won at San Siro.

Thiago Pinto comments on Jimenez’s Bournemouth move

Jimenez can play as a right or left wing-back, but also as a right winger.

“Álex is a highly regarded young player who has already shown great promise at AC Milan,” said Bournemouth director Tiago Pinto.

“We are delighted to bring a player with such talent into the club and we believe he will be a strong addition to our squad. We’re looking forward to working with him once he returns from international duty with Spain.”
