Brighton are in talks regarding a new contract for defender Joel Veltman this summer.

Per The Mail, the Dutchman showcased last term that he can excel in the Premier League.

The 31-year-old was up there as one of the team's best performers under Roberto De Zerbi.

Veltman, who played for Ajax in the Champions League for several seasons, will help Brighton in Europe this coming season as well.

The source states that he is set for a two year extension to his existing contract.

While he will not get a wage rise, Veltman will be happy with the longer-term deal at his age.
