Despite Inter Milan losing 4-3 to Juventus in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia, there were positives to take from the Nerazzurri, with Carlos Augusto, Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu given safety from criticism.

In player ratings published by Tuttosport today, via FcInterNews, only three players received a rating of 7 or higher.

The newspaper awarded Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram a 7/10.

The wing-back was a surprise pick ahead of Federico Dimarco for head coach Cristian Chivu but was impressive down the left-flank.

Meanwhile, Thuram, like his younger brother Khephren for Juventus, found the back of the net in the match and was fairly solid throughout.

Tuttosport’s highest performing Inter player, however, was Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Turkish midfielder was awarded a 7.5 rating after scoring twice and carrying his team on his back.

With the exception of these three players, it was a different matter for Inter.

Tuttosport awarded head coach Cristian Chivu a 5/10 for his second consecutive defeat.

The outlet gave Yann Sommer the lowest rating on the Inter team, with a 4.5.

Meanwhile Akanji, Barella, Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny received a 5.

The paper awarded Bastoni and Mkhitaryan a 5.5 and Acerbi, Dumfries and Zielinski a 6.

Dimarco came on as a substitute in the second half and assisted Thuram’s goal.

Tuttosport granted the Italian a 6.5 rating.
