Gatti underwent medical tests on Wednesday morning, after which Juventus released an official injury update: “Federico Gatti, who was substituted during the second half of the Juventus-Udinese match following a right knee sprain, underwent further radiological tests at J| Medical this morning,” the Bianconeri said.

“The tests revealed a medial meniscus tear, requiring surgery, which will be performed in the coming days.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, Gatti will be forced to the sidelines for at least one month, although the actual recovery time will only be confirmed after the defender undergoes surgery over the coming days.

The 27-year-old defender has made 14 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals, one in Serie A and one in the Champions League.

Juventus will be short of options when they visit Napoli at the Stadio Maradona next Sunday as Gleison Bremer and Daniele Rugani are also injured, although the pair is expected to return to action later this month.
