Juventus could be tempted to dip into the January transfer market to find a replacement for the injured Gleison Bremer, but the Old Lady’s biggest issue remains in midfield, and not at centre-back.

Juventus emergency remains in midfield

Bremer is expected to miss over a month of action after undergoing an operation on a meniscus injury in his knee. The Brazilian suffered a cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in the same knee last October, which kept him out of action for the majority of the 2024-25 campaign.

Now, the current dialogue is that the Bianconeri will look to find a replacement or back-up to the Brazilian in the January transfer window, when, in reality, Juve’s real emergency remains in midfield.

Juventus should have strengthened their midfield department by July, and now their reduced set of options in the centre of the park could become even more of an issue, particularly if Teun Koopmeiners continues to underwhelm.

As for Juventus’s defenders, there is still optimism that Bremer and Juan Cabal will return before long. Once he is back, Bremer will add to a centre-back department that already includes Federico Gatti, Pierre Kalulu, Lloyd Kelly and Daniele Rugani.
