Tuttosport reports that Juventus, Inter and some Premier League clubs have already made preliminary approaches for Cagliari and Italy youngster Alessandro Romano.
Cagliari midfielder Romano is being regarded as the next big thing in Italian football and has already attracted interest from several clubs, according to sources in Italy.
Tuttosport provides the latest updates on the 20-year-old midfielder who joined Cagliari on loan with an obligation to buy from Roma last summer.
According to the report, Juventus director Frederic Massara is on good terms with the player’s entourage and Cagliari, and so is Inter.
Bianconeri and Nerazzurri have been monitoring the 20-year-old for several weeks now, and the defending Serie A champions see him as a potential replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu, who has less than a year left on his contract at San Siro.
According to the report, some Premier League clubs “have already moved” to sign Romano, with Cagliari receiving preliminary approaches from England.
Romano made his senior Italy debut as a starter against Belgium last Friday and made his second international appearance as a substitute against Turkiye this past Monday.
He previously represented Switzerland at the U21 level. Romano has scored one goal in seven appearances across all competitions with Cagliari so far this season.
