Juventus have always been one of the giants of Italian football, however it’s been six years since their last Serie A title.

Currently sat in fourth place, The Old Lady have struggled to come above third since the 2019/20 season when they were crowned Champions.

In the six years since, Juve have only managed to lift two Supercoppa Italianas and the Italy Cup, however it’s not for a lack of quality players.

Luciano Spalletti’s side currently boasts names like Khephren Thuram, Teun Koopmeiners, Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David.

However, Juve could be set to lose one of their top midfielders as Manchester United are eyeing up a swoop to strengthen the ranks at Old Trafford.

Calcio Mercato have reported that United are looking to Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli as part of their midfield reboot.

The Red Devils have been long-standing fans of the midfielder, since his days at Sassuolo, however are now opening up that door once more.

The Italian outlet explains that the United hierarchy have listed the midfielder as a target for their rebuild, with the middle of the pitch set for a huge shake-up this summer.

Already it’s been confirmed that midfield veteran Casemiro will be leaving Old Trafford at the end of his contract.

Manuel Ugarte is failing to establish himself in the senior squad nearly two years on from joining from PSG, so could well be replaced as well.

Already it’s been understood that United are prioritising a move for Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton or Carlos Baleba this summer, however a second midfielder could also be on the cards.

As such, links between United and Locatelli could well build over the coming months, with plenty of time still left until the summer transfer window opens.
