New Juventus director Marco Ottolini declared that the departure of Dusan Vlahovic wasn’t necessarily 100 percent certain yet, but the Bianconeri face an uphill climb to retain him.
The official spoke to Sky.
“We’re extremely happy with the work of Luciano Spalletti and his staff. I think that the squad and single players have noticeably improved. We’re convinced we’ll continue together. We’ll sit down with him in the next few weeks.”
“Weston McKennie is doing well, he combines quantity and quality, he’s tireless, and he’s putting up important numbers. We’re in talks with him and his entourage. We want to keep our best contributors.”
The Juventus exec also dished on Vlahovic.
“The matter of his renewal isn’t over.”
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serb is eyeing in particular Bayern Munich and Barcelona. He’s more intrigued by the prospect of playing in the Bundesliga or La Liga than in the Premier League.
On the other hand, he asks for a €10M salary, and his camp demands €15M commissions. Not many teams can afford him. The Bavarians tested the waters in October but didn’t follow suit. The striker isn’t close to coming to terms with any side.
The Old Lady will be in the mix only if he significantly decreases his requests. It’s hard to imagine they’ll offer more than Kenan Yildiz to any player, currently on their roster or a newcomer. Those numbers also take Milan out of the running despite the chatter, while Inter could come close if they wished to, but they are in excellent shape offensively. It’s shaping up to be a long, topsy-turvy affair with possibly a surprise outcome, like a bridge deal to stay put.
