Kai Rooney has emerged as one of many talents that could excel for Manchester United in the future as supporters continue to look towards those who could impact the team’s success in future years and even decades.

The 16-year-old, son of United legend Wayne Rooney, has come through the academy in recent years with him featured on the bench for United’s Under-18s recent quarter-final victory against Sunderland’s Under-18s.

Rooney has also scored multiple times this season, helping him as he continues to develop closer to higher age groups and even the first team.

With plenty of time still to go in his development at the club, opportunities may continue to arise for the 16-year-old as he aims to follow in the footsteps of his father and towards prolonged success.

On Saturday, Rooney once again showed his worth with an explosive return from injury as he scored in two separate games for the Under-16s and Under-18s against Blackburn Rovers.

For the Under-16s, Kai Rooney scored twice whilst also providing two assists. Then, after his efforts for the Under-16s, he went onto score for the Under-18s, meaning he ended the day with five goals contributions.

The 16-year-old had previously been injured with him on crutches earlier this season as he aimed to recover from his injury as quick as possible.

With a good level of performance reached and with injuries now behind Rooney, focus may now switch towards maintaining his form in upcoming games and towards showing his coaches that he can maintain good levels of performances consistently.

If he can maintain good levels of performance, Kai Rooney could find himself in a good position heading into the summer and heading into the new season after a period of pre-season later this year.
