Lamine Yamal Receives Bad News Days After El Clasico Loss

Barcelona lost 1-2 in the most recent edition of El Clasico against Real Madrid, on the occasion of the tenth matchday of LaLiga.

Before the match, Lamine Yamal 'heated' things up by declaring that the Merengue club "steals" and "complains", which generated annoyance in players like Dani Carvajal.

Upon finishing the game, Carvajal, 33, approached Yamal, 18, making gestures to him that he should not speak prematurely. As a result of this, several players confronted each other.

Barcelona's #10 not only received that bad news, but days later, an update about his physical state emerged in the Spanish press, and the report is not good.

Lamine Yamal Played El Clasico Despite Not Being Fully Fit

According to El Chiringuito, Yamal played the match against Real Madrid despite not being physically well, and to this day, he continues to have discomfort.

"Around 15 days ago, his entourage informed Barcelona about recurring pubic pain, and the club is now consulting specialists in pubalgia to find the best treatment and prevent further complications."

This would explain the bad match that the young winger had, who had an expected goals (xG) of 0.03 and an expected assists (xA) of 0.37.

The assistant coach of Barcelona, Marcus Sorg, also spoke after the match, and acknowledged that Yamal still needs help to face teams that prepare especially to stop him.

"It was clear that they had a plan to stop Lamine Yamal. We have to help him," Sorg said. “They had Lamine going on two vs. one always. He couldn’t get inside the box."

“He is still learning how to deal with the crowds. With the chants, the whistles, the hostile environment against him. It’s part of the process, its normal. Usually he plays well, but today it wasn’t easy for him,” Sorg added.
