Tylel Tati is a rising star in France, and apparently Chelsea already made a swing to sign him back in January.
The NXGN top 50 youngsters in the world list is out, and it has some interesting stuff in there.
In the entry for Tylel Tati, the teenage defender starting for Nantes regularly, it notes that the youngster “was the subject of a €30m bid from Chelsea late in the January transfer window, so urgent were the Blues to bring one of Europe’s most talented young centre-backs to Stamford Bridge.”
We covered the rumour on the 1st of February, but there wasn’t a huge amount of chatter about it. It didn’t make it to Fabrizio Romano’s timeline, put it that way.
There was so much talk about our interest in Jeremy Jacquet (who eventually agreed a move to Liverpool) that the Tati bid was largely forgotten. Presumably it came after the Jacquet move was confirmed but before we decided to bring back Mamadou Sarr.
We wonder if we’ll be back for him in the summer? It looks like the competition will be a lot hotter then.
Morgan Rogers is one player who won’t be joining Chelsea, given his massive transfer fee and our failure to reach the Champions League.
Enzo Fernandez’s move away from Chelsea feels more and more like a case of “where to” than “if,” with more updates from Ben Jacobs today.
