Lazio limped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sassuolo yesterday afternoon, as a lacklustre Biancocelesti struggled to create and left the Mapei Stadium with nothing.

Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri left the stadium immediately at full-time, with the club confirming he would not be speaking to the press after the game as he head to leave “due to family reasons.”

Today, however, the coach has spoken to Lazio Style Channel, with quotes via La Lazio Siamo Noi.

In his comments, he revealed more about injured duo Valentin Castellanos and Nicolo Rovella.

Rovella was taken off in the first-half of yesterday’s game.

“We’ll do everything we can to get Rovella and Castellanos back,” Sarri said, “it doesn’t seem like anything too serious but it is not guaranteed they will start in the derby.”

Sarri provides updates on Lazio stars Patric, Vecino & Lazzari

Rovella and Castellanos are not the only two Lazio players currently in the metaphorical infirmary.

“I had a meeting with the doctor,” Sarri said, “Lazzari underwent tests and it looks like he has a small lesions his soleus.”

“Vecino has recovered,” he continued, “but his feelings aren’t particularly positive.”

Finally, the coach updated fans on Spanish defender Patric, “he might be in his final days of training separately – he should be back in the group at the end of this week or early next week.”

After a disappointing start to the season, with just one win from their opening three matches of the campaign, the Biancocelesti must now focus on next Sunday’s Derby d’Italia clash against fierce local rivals Roma.
