Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has reportedly recovered from the injury that kept him out of action over the past few weeks.

The Nigerian international suffered a thigh problem in the victory over Bologna on the opening matchday of the Serie A campaign. Therefore, he was unavailable for the club’s following three fixtures against Genoa, Udinese, and AC Milan.

According to Lazio News 24, Dele-Bashiru should be fit enough for a call-up for this weekend’s contest against Venezia. The Biancocelseti will play Giovanni Stroppa’s men away from home on Saturday (20:45 CET) in their last game before the extended international break.

While Gennaro Gattuso won’t be taking any risks, the 26-year-old should join the squad, and as will Danilo Cataldi, who could make his first appearance of the season after recovering from groin surgery.

These two returns will boost the manager’s midfield options, offering depth behind the starting trio of Davide Frattesi, Reda Belahyane, and Kenneth Taylor. On the other hand, Nicolo Rovella won’t return before the international break, and the same goes for Adam Marusic.

Dele-Bashiru’s timely comeback could also earn him a call-up from the Nigerian national team. The Super Eagles will play their first two qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations during the upcoming international break. They will host Madagascar on September 25, before travelling for Guinea-Bissau for an away clash on September 29.
