Lazio have reached a full agreement with Sassuolo to sign Andrea Pinamonti, with the striker set to complete a move to the capital.
According to Lalaziosiamonoi.it, the deal will be structured as a paid loan worth €3m, carrying an option to buy that becomes exercisable in a year. The eventual fee will vary depending on bonuses.
The player had been agitating for the switch for several days, keen to leave the Neroverdi for Rome. Fabrizio Romano has since confirmed the deal is done.
Pinamonti fills a gap Gennaro Gattuso had identified in recent weeks, the new coach having asked the club for a centre-forward.
Lazio opened the Serie A season with a 1-0 win at Bologna on Monday, Davide Frattesi scoring within four minutes of coming off the bench, but Gattuso started the game with Boulaye Dia leading the line and no natural alternative available.
Sassuolo, for their part, are reported to have already identified a replacement, clearing the path for Pinamonti’s exit.
